And on that note…I wish you a Happy Halloween…muahhahaha….heh.

For many of you that have read the Skinny Bitch books, you’ve heard the “Sugar is the Devil” phrase before.  Well, it is definitely my personal devil.   Ever since my LA trip last week, I have been eating candy with breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  Very counter-intuitive to what I usually preach.   Candy is usually not in my house because I cannot control myself.  My default brain setting in the candy file is “must eat it til its gone!”  And the pioneer ancestry/Jiminy Cricket in my brain forbids me to throw it away….because that would just be too wasteful (how dumb is that line of thinking…)  Not rational.  Must override.

Of course I have treats in my house, its just that I find candy (any type of candy) completely addicting.  Is it the sugar, the wrapper, the doing something “naughty”?  Does this happen to anyone else?!  Anyway, I’m so glad today is Halloween so that this candy binging nonsense can stop, at least until Christmas.

We had the usual oxymoronic church Halloween Party on Saturday, and Landon had a great time looking at all the costumes and being the little monkey.

He enjoyed to sports games, as usual.

He was completely star-struck by the “football player.”  PML spotted mini-Joe Montana from across the crowded parking lot and yelled “OOOHHH! Football Player” as he held my hand and drug me the entire 20 yards to the kid.   Then he stood very shyly, but as close to him as possible.  The 6 year-old definitely thought it was awkward.  Toddler stalker.  I asked young Joe of he could give Landon a “high-five” and he agreed at which point Landon’s countenance changed like he just experienced the most amazing moment of his life.  “Get DAD!”  he yelled.

PML ran to Rod and drug him all the way back to the football player, pointing at him, and making facial expressions like, “Can you even freaking believe that a REAL football player is here?!” all while trying to be as covert as possible with his glee.  Nothing like the pure excitement and happiness from a child.  This reason alone is enough for me to willingly go through 9 months of torturous Hell to get a child here.

Very fascinated by the witch fingers.  And of course, he had more candy and treats than I think he’s ever eaten in his life.

Happy Halloween!

What are your traditions with Halloween candy?  How do you divvy it up to your kids (or yourself)?  Do you just let them have at it cart blanche? Ration it? Or just throw that crap away?  This is my first year having to deal with it for my little one, I’d love your advice.

Farmers, Firetrucks, and Reality TV Weddings

October 10, 2011

Howdy folks!  Just sitting here watching crazy people get major plastic surgery and plan weddings for people who seem less than likely to make it “until death do us part…” on TV.  Oh those Kardashians.  Nothing like a good KUWTK two hour special to help a gal relax on the Sabbath. Heh. Anyway, just wanted [...]
