My Nutrition Story
After dancing and teaching in a studio 40+ hours a week and living on California rolls and protein bars because I didn’t know how to properly fuel my body, I suffered from chronic stomach pain and low energy. I was prescribed acid-reflux medication and told I would most likely need it forever. I had just come from college where I had a steady diet of vending machine processed foods, pizza, and the Wendy’s dollar menu. While dancing kept me thin, the wear and tear on body combined with the “college diet” had my system all out of whack.
I overhead a few actor’s from my acting school talking about “The Body Ecology Diet” so I gave that a try (I took sugar, gluten, and dairy out of my diet completely and added probiotics) and never felt better in my life. After staying on the detox portion of the diet for 6 weeks I slowly added gluten, dairy, and sugar back in to my diet and saw how sensitive my body was the junk I had been putting in it. Now I enjoy all 3 things in moderation (unless I have a moment of weakness…). I’ve dabbled in raw, vegan, and vegetarian cuisine and believe that no one diet is right for everyone because we are all so unique.
